Rain and Lammyjammy

Day 5

After having a great night's sleep, not that any of my sleeps, on this trip have been bad, but I do feel really rested this morning.

I head down to see where the "free breakfast" is, and it's time for a coffee. I gotta give the "Best Western of Lehigh Valley" credit, they have a great spread. So, I take back my coffee to the room, proof read yesterdays blog, change a few bits and publish it. I'm actually starting today's blog off early.

Bah humbug, it's actually still raining this morning, and the heat is still with us. That cold front that went through Toronto yesterday still has to come through here, and I can't wait.

It's actually a pic from this morning, even though it looks the same as yesterday, all the way down to it's still raining. The rain is suppose to stop around 11 am, with some continuing off and on, all day. The good news is, the rest of the weekend is looking great.

Well, it finally stops raining and I head down to the run hotel, which is about 10 mins away on the highway. I make a few wrong turns, but finally find it.

I know the big guy there from Buffalo, many moons ago, nice to see the old Lambro. It's nice to see some of these still on the road. Also that's Woody behind it. Woody said 3 of the guys from Boston went down while riding in from Boston in last nights rain. A little road rash and a few scraps on the scoots, but the're OK. I also met up with the crew from Pittsburgh and saw Andy and Jane, but dumb me, forgot to congratulate them on their upcoming baby. O, well, I got all weekend.

Too much socializing so, I'd better get my ass inside to register before they shut down and pick up my run goodies.
The raffle scoot looks good, and as Gene says "Delivery is included", which for us Canadians means dropping it off at either Rob's or Leslie's house in Buffalo. Ah, only to be so lucky to win it this weekend.  After socializing, I head out to get something for lunch and head down to the "Sands" Casino. Hey, I'm on holiday.

Not my pic

On the way, I get to pass the old Bethlehem steel works, which kind of reminds me of the old steelworks in Buffalo and Niagara Falls. The world moves on, but it is huge. Anyway the Casino is located on the grounds of the old steelworks.

Still not my pic.

I park the bike and head inside. I get my players card and my whole $5 welcome credit. I hit up a "Wheel of Fortune" machine, and start feeding it. 5 or 6 spins, I hit the wheel. It comes in at 150, I cash out, end up feeding $10 back and I bail. As I leave the parking garage, I find out the rain has come back. So I pull over and put on my rain gear and head back to my motel.

Because the rain came back, the Friday ride had to be canceled. It sucks, but with the weather forecast for the weekend looking good, it's better to get the rain over with. There's a gap in the rain, so I head over to Wegman's for dinner and do some shopping. Can you guess what happened? Yep, as soon as I finish shopping, the rain returns. But this time, I have my rain gear and helmet. So no problem, plus it wasn't raining as hard this time.

After doing a mini binge tv session (Limitless), I head down to the Friday night Do. Tonight's do is at a bar called " The Broadway Social". It's a night club for young ones, with the kids on the main floor and the rest of us upstairs and hanging out front.

Damm, just when Alby had his "Hood" look down, he could't be a Friday night "Player"

I gotta say, it's a really mellow place, the kids that were there, enjoyed themselves and no attitude, which was refreshing. There was even a private room for bottle service. But you know scooterists, and I can't say I saw anyone in there all night.

I've gotta give credit to the run organizers, you can't get any closer to the run hotel for the do's. Both are more or less across the street from the motel.

Since the hotel is just across the street, I check out the scoots, and surprise, there has to be at least double the amount of lammys that this afternoon.

Well, it's getting late and Alby's feeling peckish, so what better than a couple of sliders from "White Castle" Since I've been here before visiting Gene for a "Scooters O" swap meet, I know just where to go.

Not the one I went to, but close enough.

Looks better than the 2 I had, but O so good!

Not the White Castle I
went to, but close enough. Same goes for the Bacon Cheese slider.

From here I head to the hotel to turn in and get some sleep. Goodnight folks.

Mileage maybe 20 miles
