I'm a traveling man.

Day 10

I liked Atlantic City, so much so, I wish I could stay a few more days, and I'm really glad I came. But one must move on. So I went to bed early, which wasn't too hard, with all that walking. Don't worry, It's only a small blister, which I didn't pop. Though my riding shoes get lots of air, why risk infection.

So I'm up at 4 am, which hopefully, will get me on the road by 6 am. I really want to miss all that Philly rush hour traffic, and put some miles on the bike. The usual 3's, and I take some stuff down to the bike, and while I'm down there, bring a Latte back up. 24 hour cafe's, that's why I love Casino's. Which at 5 am, the tables were still pretty busy.

The bike is loaded up, and  I'm checked out at 5:45 am. Actually, I'm surprised, I'm leaving early. But I do make a wrong turn, so I do ending up leaving AC at 6 am. I also got to see a beautiful sunrise coming up on/over AC, which I didn't take a pic. Which is the theme for today. I actually didn't take any :-(.

Of course the traffic back ups started going into Philly, but nothing too bad, but I though it would be better than it was. Then I'm over the Walt bridge that I came down on. Then up interstate 76, and on to Cleveland.

Then surprisingly, I hit the traffic wall leaving Philly. For some reason, all the highways that I use coming or going out, are only 2 lanes. I know the landscape makes it hard to expand, but you've had 50 years to do it. So, it took around an hour to get out of the greater Philly area. I'd hate to think what it would be like if I had left later.

Once Interstate 76 becomes the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Toll road), things lighten up greatly, and having been on the bike for 3 hours. I stop at one of the service areas, for another latte and something to eat. Not much in the way of healthy stuff, not even a banana. So I take the best thing there, which is a cup of strawberries. Check the maps, fill up the bike, then back on the road, no pics.

I take interstate 76 over to Harrisburg. Though I can take 76 almost over to Cleveland,  or I can try and take 322/22 up to interstate 80. I've been on part of 322, as part of it takes you to the 15, which goes to Rochester, NY and for me, most times, home.

First I'll save money not being on the toll, but the other and more important part is, I miss all that Pittsburgh traffic. Though if your going that way, make sure you stop off at the Flight 93 memorial. It's well worth the visit, I've been there before.

Flight 93 National Memorial.

So up 322/22 I go, and what a great choice. Nice windy roads, and not a lot of traffic, and no construction. I make it up to interstate 80 with no problems.

Well, I've been on the bike for 2 1/2 hours, plus it's lunch time. So as you can guess, it's time for McD's and that Bacon, chicken, ranch salad. After that, I fill up the bike, and make a stop for some sunscreen.
As I left the last bottle somewhere. But no problem, as I did pack one of those sample packs that I got from a scooter run goody bag (I'd thank the run, but have sadly I've forgotten who's run it was).

Anyway it's 1 pm, and time to hit the road, from here on in, I seem to hit the never ending construction works. After riding for a couple of more hours, I decide to hit the Grove City Outlets. They have a few outlets I like to visit. Of course I buy nothing, though they try and sell me a coupon book for $3, no more free ones with your CAA (AAA) cards :-(.

Once there and tired from the heat, I decide to get a room for the night. I try both Priceline and Hotwire, which happen to give me the same price for the room, so I choose Hotwire and the room is booked. It just happens to be the Comfort Suites across from the outlet mall. I unpack and get comfortable.

Then I make a run for supplies, but I leave my phone upstairs in the room. Hey who needs the phone, I've memorized the directions. Well an hour later, and after digging out the Garmin GPS out of the top box, I find the grocery store. What a sad collection of fruits. But a great collection of Dr Pepper flavors, they had Dr Pepper flavours I've never see before. Plus they had my favorite, Livewire Orange. So I end up going to Aldi, which surprisingly, had way fresher fruits.

Then I top up the bike and back to the motel, for dinner and sleep.

Total mileage

Speedo says 1415.7

Today's mileage 445.
