Vegas, laundry, and relaxing.

Day 9

I had a really good sleep, and slept in, well, slept in, for what would have been my usual wake up

time for this trip.

I update yesterdays blog, and head downstairs to grab a overpriced Starbucks, but at least

it's a decent coffee.

The morning view from my hotel room, I guessing you don't get a strip view for $9 a night.

It's been a while since I've seen a ashtray in my hotel room.

After playing magical mystery floor to find my bike, I took a picture.

Well, I did say I had to do laundry. I've been coming here for years. Drop off in the morning, pick up

in the afternoon after 3 pm. They are reasonably priced.

Hitting up Wallyworld for some new socks and underwear, plus drinks and snacks.

Spam, haven't I seen you somewhere before?

I've bought them before, though this time, I just don't think the will fit in the trailer.

Time to hit some more stores, off to Fry's and I get there just before opening.

Fry's electronics in Vegas, it used to be at the top of the pack, (The $99,000 100" 4k Samsung tv they

had on display years ago). I dropped by looking for a cable for my gps and 9 volt batteries, but they

had nether. The funny thing is they did have batteries for my TPMS for 90 cents. So I picked up a

few, so the trip was worth it. I just wonder on how long Fry's is going to last in the age of Amazon?

Deal of the day, isn't it funny when your not looking for things, you always find them?

What do you do with a 2 lb gummy bear? The heat of Vegas thankfully saved me from that decision.

A trip over Best Buy, got me the cable, and a bonus of the adapter that I was looking for the TPMS,

win!

I had to hit another dollar store for the 9 volt batteries that I needed for a portable amp, that I use to

boost the volume on the bike (making old school and new tech work). Having got everything done in

a couple of hours, it's time for some lunch. For me that means In-n-Out. Which has the best $2

hamburger hands down.

As Arnold says "I'll be back"

I'll leave it be, and come back later as I enjoy visiting the Stratosphere tower.

I'm from Toronto, aren't you forgetting something? Like the CN Tower?

The one thing I hate about Vegas is the hidden nickeling and dimeing. In the guest package they tell

you that you can go up the tower for $5. Sounds reasonable. But when you buy the ticket the total is

$9. They add a $4 convenience fee. There is just so much bait and switch here. Why not just charge

$9 and not piss off everyone?  Well enough of my rant.

This gives you a idea on where everything is. It's very roomy, and stairs and elevators to get around

with.

This is one of the most relaxing places in Vegas that I've ever found. If you've got the time and need

to get some work done. This is the place. Kind of like a Starbucks, but a way better view.

I miss the old Hilton hotel, and the Star Trek experience. It's one of those attractions that you want to

go back to after a few years.

McCarran International in the distance, most times that I've come to Vegas I arrive and leave from there,

not this time.

I saw a movie that had Vegas world in it. Though I could not figure out if it was in Vegas or Reno,

now I know. Space themed, sounds like a fun place. I just wish I could have visited Vegas back when

it was really cool.

                                                                           The strip.

855 foot free fall, any takers? BTW, it's $150 for the pleasure.

                                                                Assorted history bits

A enjoyable trip up the tower, but it's 3 pm and time to go get the laundry

It's now 90 degrees out and driving the bike in city traffic isn't fun, but everything is finished and it's

coming up time for dinner.

I finally found the motorcycle parking.

In Toronto it's, who rides a bike in winter. In Las Vegas, who rides a bike in summer?

A soul food place just down the street from the casino. Much better than the Buffet. Plus I didn't want

to drive all around town to get something to eat.

Back up the tower to see it at night, your ticket let's you re enter as many times as you wish until

1 am. There are more people here at night than during the day, and lot's of people getting married up

here.

I'm actually happier than I look

Well, it's getting late so back down stairs and up to the room to see if the gps has updated (no).

I always throw $20 in the mega 10 million dollar megabucks machine. I didn't win, but it let me play

for awhile and I left $30 richer. I head back up to my room and finally get the gps updated by paying

for the extra high speed internet.

Today mileage about 25 miles or 40 km. I didn't record it, but it wasn't much.
